Hurrah for me, for I managed not to waste the whole weekend. Although it was looking a bit hit and miss there on Saturday morning/afternoon. I played Sims for two and a half hours before a phone call from the Rocks woke me from my Playstation coma. Obviously I am far too used to being amused by Mal.

Anyway I went for a wander with my camera this afternoon and here's a rake of pictures. I went up the Smithfield Chimney yoke. I had always meant to give it a go, but Red Mum blogged about it last week, which spurred me on a bit.

Last Sunday I went to the Hugh Lane Gallery with Tom and Liz. It's such a lovely gallery. And the shop and cafe are great. Anyway this is one of the stairways; there are dots all over it due to the panorama software trial I used.

Also, I now have a piano, well a digital one anyway. I have discovered that I am very rusty. My eighteen-year-old self would be laughing her head off if she could hear me. I never liked her anyway.

It is fantastic. David there paints pictures - obviously enough - and the painting is the star. The set doesn't get a look-in.
David himself does a good line in banter - "Lie down there Mr Shadow Lad", "Don't kill the dark", "The dark is your friend" - just some of the gems he has come out with.

Last night we 'ad some very strange visitors to Cafe Rene.

Ze night started normallly enough - I got ready for my shift.

René was very dashing, as usual.

We prepared ze kitchen for ze night a'ead.

All of a zudden, customers started to arrive. But zer attire was very unusual..

Zuddenly I found myself in a newsroom, with a lady who kept offering to make me friendship bracelets.

Ze news was very gripping last night.

What time is it? Zis chap 'ad the answer.

I felt very safe despite ze strangers, due to ze presence of some superheroes.

Aww zere were lovely ladies all innocent and white.

Zen things went a bit mental - people from ze past and future showed up. Not to mention ze lady with ze crazy axe.

I think Wally found himself.

Ah an ambassador from ze Kazakhstani embassy showed up too.

Soon everyone was contributing news stories.

Zis lady brought cake so we were 'appy.

René was very busy but I still got to spend a little time wiz 'im.

I didn't know they 'ad cameras under ze sea. There you go.

Then ze people started pairing off. I think ze Dude scored anyway.

Ha ha they eat dust in Spain.

See, we arrived in Madrid by night, but when we woke up the next day, this was the first thing we saw.
We weren't thrilled.

But that was only the start of it.

Apparently Madrid had been having some class of a drought, and had been praying for rain.
